Radio 2 / Tony Blackburn Returns To The BBC
« on: October 19, 2016, 04:24:20 PM »

Tony Blackburn Returns.

Its good to see the BBC management coming to there senses at last.

I don't know the full story and to be honest I don't want to know. All I do know is that Tony Blackburn is one of our finest presenters, and it`ll be good to hear him back where he belongs.

He still has a lot to offer and outshines many other "younger" presenters.
Good Luck Tony

Taken from the BBC website.

........ quote " Culture Secretary John Whittingdale has unveiled the government's plans for the BBC, saying it must put "distinctive content" at its heart.
He said the licence fee will rise in line with inflation for the next five years - and that this way of funding the BBC will continue for 11 years."

........ end quote

Does it look good for the BBC ?.

The News Where You Are / Brand V Fararge : Question Time
« on: December 12, 2014, 08:30:49 AM »
Did anyone watch "Question Time" last night, with Russell Brand and Nigel Fararge on the panel.
Russell spoke in his normal eloquent way, someone who cares for those less fortunate than himself.
He spoke with understanding and openness and definitely not as a politician.
Farage just sat looking like butter wouldn't melt in his mouth, (but we all know otherwise)
Then when Russell called Fararge a "Pound Shop Enoch Powell" I thought how brilliant Russell Brand is.

BBC Local Radio Board / This Friday Its "Tony Day" on BBC London
« on: July 18, 2014, 09:02:25 PM »
Friday the 25th July BBC London pays homage to Tony Blackburn

BBC London will celebrate Tony`s life as a DJ & broadcaster. Starting from early morning till late all the shows will be dedicated to his life, the music he loves, interviews with those who know him  and including a "Special two hour Show at 7pm"
Listeners will be invited to phone in to ask questions and to be part of the celebrations. BBC London is calling it "Tony Day".

As from this Sunday Tony Blackburn will host the Soul & Motown show on 3 Counties Radio from 9am each Sunday.
Tony must be one of the UKs hardest working presenters and can be found on many other stations through out the week.
His Sunday Soul and Motown show each Sunday afternoon on BBC London has become an institution for all soul lovers.

Its good to know that Tony is keeping real soul and motown alive.

Ok I know its not a BBC station but I must share this with others. Its LBC at its best with the wonderful Mr James Obrien.

James invited Nick Farage into the studio for an interview.

It was supposed to last longer until James was running rings around Farage , the UKIPs press officer then ended it.

Well done James Obrien for lifting the lid and showing the listeners where we stand.

I ask all to view this interview and watch a great broadcaster and journalist do his job well. Thank you James Obrien.
(watch Farage`s face as he answers, watch him stumble over awkward questions)
