BBC local radio is under threat. BBC management wish to deliver this public service as a networked and regional broadcast. Mark Thompson announced in March that proposals to network it with 5 live outside of breakfast and drive were being considered. That now may be off the table ..but worse is to come Helen Boaden (controller of BBC local radio) has said that management will be "horribly realistic" about BBC local radio and has only talked about breakfast shows surviving as a local service

Please read the petition and show your support, if you feel so moved please write a few words describing what your local station means to you, or at least which stations you tune into.  Thank you for your time.
