This will be available on the iplayer very soon

Brilliant judgement that Radio 4 broadcast this in the last half hour of Good Friday.

It is an exceptional summary of human struggle through readings. It takes Tony Benn to pick them out, of course, no one else could have done that with such intelligence, understanding and humour.

It starts with the need for the prophets to challenge the Kings and talks about the levellers and women and war and injustice and the need for courage, with readings from Oscar Wilde to a Greenham woman protester.

He talks about immortality through the words that can be left and his father's description of waves on water.

His grandmother also said about the final journey..

"at least you don't have to pack!"

It is with great pleasure that I listened to this and I hope that many do. Tony Benn quotes a poem at the end.

"Do not stand at my grave and weep,
I am not there; I do not sleep.
I am a thousand winds that blow,
I am the diamond glints on the snow,
I am the sunlight on ripened grain,
I am the gentle autumn rain.
When you awaken in the mornings hush
I am the swift uplifting rush
Of quiet birds in circled flight.
I am the soft stars that shine at night.
Do not stand at my grave and cry,
I am not there; I did not die."

I am glad that he is still here.
