Managers at the World Service have been accused of offering to sacrifice radio services rather than their salaries( suprise!). Instead of working out how to save costs they tried to close 13 language services.

William Hague is now challenging the BBC in a submission to the Foreign Affairs Select Committee, showing that the BBC does not need to make cuts to essential services. He says there has been a massive fail in management to find efficiencies.

5 members of the Board ass with the World Service earned ?100,00 and the cheif exec earned ?215,000..and for what? to offer the service itself up to the cuts!
