Here it all is. Happy reading!

Pretty depressing that no one from the BBC management or the BBC Trust could be bothered to appear on BBC R4 Feedback to discuss it and justify their fairly high wages that are paid to  them to actually do that sort of thing. Please listen to Roger stating their failure.

No wonder the BBC is in a mess.

This comment from Richard Brookes at the Times should be considered by those who work at the BBC Trust, perhaps for a short time now, given their failure to represent the public with intelligence and integrity. Shame.

■ The BBC Trust has been opining that the corporation needs more gender balance and that BBC1 is risk-averse. Thanks for stating the obvious. Mind you, its suggestion that BBC1 keeps on too many tried-and-tested programmes such as Antiques Roadshow and Countryfile is all very well, but is the Beeb simply meant to kill off continuing successes?

In another report, the trust criticised Panorama. Yet this is the one BBC current-affairs programme with regular scoops many more than the risk-averse news bulletins. So what does James Harding, director of BBC News, do? He is cutting Panoramas budget and staff to keep the trust happy, yet increasing the cash for Newsnight, which has lost audience. I suspect Harding has boosted the BBC2 show with Evan Davis as its new main anchor because it is watched by MPs.

The trust, even though it is now looking for a new chairman, should be replaced by Ofcom, and the BBC run by a single board of execs and non-execs made up of experienced people such as Fiona Reynolds and Howard Stringer, who are already independent advisers."
