Happy Birthday! to Woman's Hour 68 today.
« on: October 07, 2014, 06:42:26 PM »
Woman's Hour this week is looking at "Chore Wars"

It is good that the program is on early in the day because often we are just too tired to listen later!

It is a fun presentation of what actually is quite a serious discussion and well worth listening to.

Love Woman's Hour but tuned into this and can't help feeling a tad patronised that it's a discussion chaired by people who get someone in to clean behind their fridges!

C'est la vie.

A touching interview with actress Lynda Bellingham on this morning's show.

What did you think about the debate as a whole? Is it true that chores are unfairly divided and could it be true that management of childcare and household is undervalued because men are not doing it ?and does that have considerable impact on its value which then has impact upon our children and their expectations and environment?

This feature was not about who cleans behind the fridge, it was about much more. Many men said they felt scared by having to deal with childcare and that it was boring at times. Guess what? women feel the same .. It is also of course wonderful and selfless and there the debate started..
