Ed Stewart returns to BBC Radio 2 at long last.
« on: December 02, 2014, 05:28:27 PM »
Great news as Ed Stewpot Stuart returns to Radio 2 this Christmas Day with another popular Junior Choice between 10am and 12pm. Why Radio 2 does not give Ed a weekly show again is beyond me, Stuart should also be given more than just one show over Christmas I remember when Ed got 2 Junior Choices one year one on Christmas Day and the other New Years's Day. ED should be given a request show on Sunday's on Radio 2.

Great news indeed, JY.

Expect many of us here must've been just the right age (8-15 ish) to be regular listeners to the original Radio 1 shows on Saturday and Sunday mornings.  I thought that Stewpot lived in Spain now, and did a show on an English speaking station out there?  Would be so good if he could be given a regular slot as JY opines.

In fact, I would like to see Keith Skues (BBC Eastern Counties) and Roger Day (BBC Kent) given their own regular shows on Radio 2, so that their excellent weekend shows could get a wider audience.  At least Keith, Roger and Ed are all seasoned DJs - Radio 2 needs more of them, and not just known 'Names', of which there seem to be far too many on the network these days.

I think that an alternate "Weekend Wogan" followed by "Stewpot on Sunday" would be a great idea.

I would also like to see the following on Radio 2:

-A return of Tony Brandon (perhaps as another option for Wogans breaks)
-Alex Lester on the early show, weekdays.
-Regular show for Richard Allinson, ideally Saturday afternoon
-a return of Radcliffe and Maconie to the evening slot.
