Audience Reaction The Voice V BGT!
Tiger:
I watched the VOICE and have to say that it was good.
This was because of Jessie J and Danny from The Script and their raw enthusiasm. The talent is pre selected and so, was of course, fantastic. The demographic mix of the coaches, and their banter was interesting. Quite a good show, and very sort of planned with some contestants clearly briefed to say that they rely upon their voices and not on their "entire package"..So really this program is everything but the voice, its whole "grab" is in the reveal!
And then I tuned into BGT! now, this format somehow, works so much better. With David Walliams now as a judge and Ant and Dec on board the humour was an XFACTOR and it was not exploitative, but made the show...and ,of course when I think they were called "Jonathan and Charlotte " appeared and totally busted the concept of the voice..I had tears in my eyes. It rocked.
Simon Cowell 1 Danny Cohen 0.
The BBC must be distinctive and must not spend £25m on a program that other broadcasters do better.
darcysarto:
Well I stumbled across The Voice tonight. Seemed they had a technical hitch, yes, someone forgot to plug Reggie Yates personality in again.
It seems some of them can sing, including Jessie J - although some can't, including Danny.
Really? £20m for XFactor with some chairs nicked off the Blakes 7 set?
Tiger:
Yes, have to say..it was as predicted.a very shallow attempt at the XFactor.
What was Cohen thinking?..or perhaps that is the problem..thinking not really his strength?
It is now carcrash..and I felt really sorry for the artists..and most of the coaches.
Big problem, would be that many millions have been put in of our money to this project, and when other services are being cut that becomes an issue.
What are they going to do to solve that?
darcysarto:
And the final audience reaction to The Voice is 40quid? ... will.i.f***

--- Quote ---The eleven date tour for The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to a lack of ticket sales.
The gigs were due to feature eight of the show's finalists.
The Voice UK Live tour was to begin at the Bournemouth International Centre on September 12, and was then due to visit venues in Cardiff, Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, London, Glasgow and Sheffield.
Organisers say fans with tickets for the cancelled dates can get a refund.
A number of ticket outlets had only cited five dates as being axed earlier today, but organisers have confirmed to Newsbeat that none of the scheduled dates will be going ahead.
In a statement, a spokesperson said: "Unfortunately, The Voice UK Live has been cancelled due to lack of ticket sales - customers are advised to contact their point of purchase for ticket refunds."
The news comes as the show was criticised for failing to attract viewers.
Episodes of The Voice consistently attracted average audiences of more than 10 million in April, but the ratings had dropped to 4.5 million
More than seven million people tuned in to watch 28-year-old Leanne Mitchell, from Lowestoft, Suffolk, be crowned the show's first ever winner.
Her single, a cover of Whitney Houston's Run To You, failed to make it into the top 40 of the Official Chart.

i really dont understand how JAzz didnt win, maybe i'm old and appreciate good soul singers so very lost today. i think jazz could have held a concert on his own, but not as entertaining as BGT even though the talent is better on the voice!! sometimes you need the cheese
