Richard Bacon and Giles Coren.
« on: May 30, 2012, 09:30:27 PM »
Coren was a guest on RB'show this pm.

Now they are both entertaining..but..

This was an afternoon with much news..and it is clear RB does not have much time or grasp of Leveson, and it is rarely covered, even as breaking news.

But it was neither intelligent or considered of him to engage Coren in commentary of Coulson's arrest , Sheridan's statement, Gove's Leveson etc..when he was unable or had a guest who was able to balance Coren's very fierce support of all people Murdoch? Not good broadcasting.

An interesting little postscript to this radio appearance, is Giles Coren's Restaurant's review in The Times mag today(9/6/2012)

Where he talks about his journey to Salford to plug his book.

"Stalking through the empty streets of Salford's Media CityUK, thrown up on a whim to create an illusion of media devolution to the regions.

All sorts of shows that needed no messing about with-BBC Breakfast, Richard Bacon's 5 Live Show, Match OFD, all randomly booted upthere, so everbody just commutes from the South(if they're rich )and powerful) or uproots their family and moves up(if they are lower level functionary), for a cause that nobody understands , at a cost of what I am told was around a billion pounds"

Seems that the message about Salford is beginning to get through to those who are having to appear on the BBC..It really does demonstrate the idiocy of those BBC suits who are reponsible.
