I am going to treat this thread as a live timeline.

Ok , first thing to say is that Mark Forrest is a person and a human being, and it is quite tempting to answer his question, what local landmark have you tried to save? Of , course I would say the thousands of listeners who petitioned to save their own local BBC station? But am not going to email him with that, possibly because that would make him uncomfortable in his first few hours, but if he keeps on I just might.

Other topic is local dialect misunderstandings, well I fear some might take him up on that!

Good thing so far is the link to BBC Introducing and the break with the the playlist.

Am wondering if English Heritage could be involved in saving BBC local radio?!

But what if the stations also had running tracks as well, that would sort the Sheffield Jess thing, and no prob about the local Theatre in Suffolk local radio knows all about pantomime.

Could work?

New subject is now wedding disasters..Is this a political take on Dave and Nick's renewal of vows today?
That bit at 8 pm was quite interesting.

Could be the dialect thing might be interesting, with the expert?

He is Italien, from Italy?

Oh how strange...

Actually may be not strange, all about saving money, lets get the World involved at least Europe?

Yes, I might be right, this is also going to reach out to other cultures, new topic Christmas day is today for some. It is good to understand this. Serbian church in Leicester. valid.

However, most of us were, gloomingly, packing away Xmas decs this weekend and returning to work and sending our children back to the jungle. Lots to engage with there.

Yes I have been biting my tongue because I am well aware that Mark is a human being and sounds like a nice chap as I'm sure everyone else involved are lovely people.

But is there no travel news?  I'm sure there's been an accident in Leeds.

Wow! go Steve from Manchester.

Great story, ticks a box too.

New topic, what are you inspired to do in 2013!

I really would not suggest getting down on the up escalator! might be messy and the compliance department could get jumpy!

Actually that might have happened in Leeds!

Do you think Steve could be signed up, this show needs a second presenter?

Next subject Coffee and Mark's former career..

Seriously!

I imagine he wants to escape to the soothing tones of the classical calm!
