Alfie & Charlie at Breakfast on BBC Newcastle.  It's in the last hour of the show when they discuss the proposals.  I will try and clip these down a bit when I get the chance.  Just click in the bar when it starts to play and you should be able to find it.  Any problems, let me know.  If you'd prefer to listen in Windows Media player, click the little iPod icon or if you'd like to download it, right click the little iPod icon and select save as..

I've not listened to this one yet, it's Julia George from BBC Kent.  More to follow when I get a moment.

Thankyou, Darcy for posting these programs.

I have been listening to the Kent broadcast and Julia was overwhemed with supportive callers and emailers.

And I did like some of the comments made by The professor of journalism and the MPs..they made reference to the huge elephant in the room here of Mark Thompson not being able to get his head around the fact that he is spending millions and millions of the licence fee moving staff and production to the regions and in the same breath proposing to destroy BBC local radio..If appears to be only Mr Thompson who does not get how stupid this is.

The MPs made it very clear that BBC LR is a frontline service and must continue to broadcast all day..and that efficency savings HAVE to be found elsewhere.

I have to agree with all that you say Tiger and also having never heard Julia before, a charming and knowledgable presenter, well worth a listen.

Here are a couple more, sorry for the delay.

Firstly, the Roger Phillips programme from BBC Merseyside:

And the Mike Parr Breakfast Show from Sony nominated BBC Cumbria

Again, I've not had chance to listen to either yet I'm afraid.
