Life in the Freezer

http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b03bn75h/episodes/guide

I like this. Having been through a similar situation/s this past couple of years, this serial is really hitting home to me. But I wonder would I have thought the same a couple of years ago when my life knew little of family death. Is it possible to see the beauty in plays such as these without having experienced the subject to such a close degree? I hope so, but I can't say. Can anyone help me out here?

Hi Albert, it's a good question and one I can't answer.  I can speak as a soppy old so-and-so though and say I lost a close aunt must be 20 years ago and I still think of her every day.  I am fortunate to have my children and there is the woman who is my soulmate, for whom there aren't enough words to describe her wonder and dramas such as this both strip me down and expose my fears of losing them to my conscious mind, but also show me how very lucky I am to know such  things in my life.

Great drama!

I have been listening to this as well.

My oberservation as a mother is that we all face death, but beyond that personal dimension is a terrible fear that you can not be there for your children and will be unable to look after them.

And this drama has explored that and captures an optimism about leaving a real presence behind.

I know that it does more than that, but this was my gain.
